First published in the Latterday Book of Arthurian Bards
The inspiration for these Bards,
Comes from Arthur, he who guards.
That which is truthful, honourable and Just,
The truth that is, Believe it you must.
They say never judge a book by its cover,
Or a man by the way that he looks.
Well there's more to this man King Arthur
Than has ever been written in books.
And now he has returned,
To put the nation to rights.
And he's searching all over the country,
For the rest of his brother Knights.

PURPOSE OF THE QUEST
The people's King

CERTAIN
Certain is that
Of which is sought of Earth.
That the Gods have told
Of Avalon's rebirth.
The need now is great
In time of Britain's need,
That belief and faith
Will repeat what is decreed
Unto us once again
For those whose hope is bold
And strong and true
Are signs as was foretold.
The King is back
To sit again upon his throne
So as was before
The seeds of justice be resown
You yourself will know
If you follow me
That this King reborn
Demands no bended knee.
All the Pendragon requires is this
To join him as a Knight
And bring this land
Back to the just fight.

LEGEND
Castles of Guilt come tumbling down
Truth and Justice, King Arthur's Crown.
The Knights of old rally and Souls Combine.
Ancient Myths and legend tighten like a vine.
No evil will rest it's darkened head
Light, life and strength will awaken from its bed
This country will come to see
King Arthur and his Knights, will set them free.

REBORN AGAIN
The Circle of fire
Creates its own warm desire.
As from the Ashes of the Phoenix flies.
Life after death the soul never dies
Victory is ours, reborn again,
Our strength emerges from death's dark Pain.
As new souls we can right wrong
We are bound together, together strong.
Lady Marion,
Lady to John the Red, Brother Knight,
Arthurian Warband.
A LETTER FROM AMERICA
The worlds a metaphor
The stone is flesh
Your very body's sheath.
The sword none other than
Your shining spirit
Draw forth Excalibur
And display it
Before the people
That they might rejoice
And know that
The true King is come
Again
At last, at long last.

TO CAMELOT
To Camelot I feel the lure
To see Arthur charge to war.
To defend the realm of light
From the terror of the night.
A Druid of your realm anew,
I like to serve only you.
Stephen Prosser.
The above was penned by a young Druid of unknown order. Arthur met with the Ancient Glastonbury Order of Druids and later with the Grand Council of British Druid Orders leaving Glastonbury for Stonehenge, Autumn Equinox '90.
NEWS LETTER
Knights, Lords, Ladies and Friends,
King Arthur is at present picketing "The Druids Dance" (Stonehenge) with the support of the Grand Council of British Druid Orders to free the temple for ceremonial purposes.
Should you be passing drop by and see him to show your support for this Quest, the first of many our fellowship will take up. All correspondences and any recent information will come through "Chesh the Bard", Quest Knight at the above below; who will correlate all information and deal with all enquires, which Arthur takes up the fight as Knight Errant.
Thank you to those who attended Stonehenge for the Equinox (non event), let us hope Arthur's and the Druid's protest reaps it's rewards. To that end there seems some chance Arthur may go to jail for contempt of court in as much as he is sworn to continue and a court order is being sought to remove him.
There will be many just causes but for the moment King Arthur for and on behalf of the Druids and the free peoples, and completing the triad with the Arthurian Warband is locked in combat with English Heritage to free the Stones for Worship.
Your brother, friend, servant and King

ONCE AGAIN
There once was a Knight
Called Astmor
A loyal Knight was he
For he knew Arthur to be a brother
Many years before.
Now there is
Astmor de Loyal,
Quest Knight,
Arthurian Warband.
I WISH
I wish I did not know
What happened to them on the way,
I wish I could not guess
Why Arthur waited fiercely
Or what it was Amergin sought.
I wish I did not know the beginning quite
so plainly,
Nor see the end so well.
Martin Legland,
Friend of the Arthurian Warband.
TALESIN
Standing again at Arthur's right hand,
Merlin be his name.
To make Britain a just land
Is his one and only claim.
A magician returned from the stone
Back from the dark to the light
A faith of past times to hone
And bring Britain from the night.
To weave his magic once more
With potion, drug and herb.
And spells from ancient lore
The Celtic decline to kerb.
See how the Celtic nation will grow
With the old sorcerer's magical rite
And very soon every man will know
This sceptered Isle's might.
Once again Arthur will sit on his throne
With the good magician at his side
And as every true believer has known
No more will there be need to hide.

THE GRAIL OF JESU THE CHRIST
A long time ago, a supper was held,
But only twelve there were, for one was untrue.
In the middle of night, a deal was made
For a small bag of silver, God's son was betrayed.
At the same time, not far away, a cup was held high
And a pledge was made
A pledge that would 2000 years would last
Until the day of his return and only then.
Not long was it after, that soldiers came and took a man,
Whose birthday, 33rd it was to be that day.
He was judged by an angry screaming crowd
And then was taken away.
Through a city he was led, and up a long cruel hill,
To stumble three times under a cross of great weight.
Then he was nailed to the cross, he did hear and put for all to see
The lightning flashed and the thunder roared when Lorigus stove into his side a spear.
Blood and water flowed down his side and into his cup held aloft.
A voice then could be heard by everyone around
"Father forgive them for they know not what they do".
Jesu the Christ's body was taken away.
On the third day after he was crucified, Jesu rose and went to heaven.
Joseph of Arimathea was made guardian of the holy cup,
Who then came to Britain and laid the cup in the hands of Holy Monks,
To strengthen the religion of our savior.
But the dark ages were upon us and the Dragons were at large.
However, then began the Kingdom of Arthur and the Grail reappeared
To shine on the kingdom of Summer.
But the beast had not been slain, only injured, and so waited
Until King Arthur, .Camelot and the Table Round were legends of the past
Then did he raise his scaly head to bring war, death and famine back to the world.
He forgot the Grail was never lost, for now the calling has begun again.
Reincarnated Knights of Camelot, led by King Arthur,
Shall recreate the Table Round, and draw their swords
To continue the fight against the beast.
For time is now on his side, because nearly 2000 years ago
A cup was raised by Jesu the Christ who pledged his return
For all those who stand true.
All things on this planet may turn to dust and pass away.
His words shall not.
Neither can the Grail.

PAST FUTURES
Futures dawn
And winters past
Time of Time
And men of men
Legends forth do come
Soothsayers rate not
Truth, light and hope
A King gone once
To his realm returned
Ye who have faith
And who have believed
No more the need to seek
For Arthur is reborn
Fourteen hundred years wait
Grieve no more
Arthur is here.

TO ARTHUR
Upon my return from a far distant land
Back to my home in cruel winter's hand
It chases the chill from my heart to hear
That Arthur Pendragon the King is near.
And as the sun rose so bright and cold
I dreamed again of days of old
Of noble deeds and wondrous sights
Of ladies fair and chivalrous knights.
I own nothing I have sold even my steed
But Arthur Pendragon should you ever need
You may call on my help once again
For once you knew me as Sir Gawain.
Sir Gawain '89,
Shield Knight,
Arthurian Warband.
THE FAITH OF GAWAIN
My day of birth was a triangle
My month that of a pentangle
The light of truth is my only arm
Justice my shield from danger and harm.
And if these should fail me, fear I not
For I place my faith in the endless knot.
In five ways, and five times in each way
My spirit is strengthened every day
Five wits,
Five fingers,
Five wounds,
Five joys,
Five virtues.

FOR KING ARTHUR PENDRAGON'S BARDIC ROAD
there is still a full moon shot
upon the lawn which is frozen
tonight right around the tyre
treads from my Harley now
tucked into winter's nest
but my heart melts all
snow that gathers at
the stones set there
from the house to where
angels sit upon a fence
as I walk to the machine
that gathers so many friends
upon Wisconsin backroads riding
towards heaven's grace on asphalt
clouds as the wind

THE MODERN QUEST
Leave now with happy heart
Tell them not upon which path you stray
Fix your eyes upon the horizon
You have nothing to lose at the end of the day
It is not where you go that matters
Only the emotions you feel along the way
And maybe you will make someone happy
In something you do or say.
Gawain '89
DO NOT FEAR!
When happiness and joy are gone
And beyond recall
Shall yet the fool carry on?
And if the fool continues
What then shall he find?
Why the Beast who'd end the world
Springs to mind!
What if the fool came upon this beast (called fear)
And had him slain
Would the world be out of pain?
Or would there be another beast
Upon the world, it wants to feast?
What if the foe had changed
With fear taking on a shape more managed?
For didn't the Bible say that the dead would rise,
And with fear bring our demise?
But the dead are gone and all abust!
Rot they will,
And surely they must.
For there is no fool
Who's afraid of dust.
And when this beast called fear is slain
And is left bleeding still,
The water flowing over the mill
Will sing "There is no end, there is no end"
And that is how it should be,
Because life's a river
And death is but a bend!
